Illahie

I realised I have not pointed out where Illahie comes from. It is a Chinook word meaning land, country, soil and earth. It has a physical and political meaing to it. To me it means this place, this land of my soul and being. The wawa of this illahie, a skookum wawa

I love that fact that this region has its own language that is designed to fit with our Illahie. I wish that we could bring it back to more public prominence. Most times one sees Chinook in place names
