X PRIZE Foundation Featured on PBS Series "WIRED Science"
On Wednesday, November 7, the X PRIZE Foundation was featured in the new PBS series "WIRED Science." The segment, titled "X PRIZE: Huge Cash Rewards Are Pushing Science Forward Like Never Before," ran at 7:00pm and gave an overview of the history of the Foundation from the early days of Ansari to the launch of the Google Lunar X PRIZE at WIRED Nextfest, with footage from both events and clips of Peter Diamandis, Larry Page, and Sergey Brin. Also included in the segment were explanations of both the Archon X PRIZE for Genomics and the Automotive X PRIZE, and discussions of where the Foundation might be going next. The final segment was a studio interview with Peter, in which he gave a personal account of the prize philanthropy model, the goals of the Foundation, and how the Foundation came to be.
